The Rules of Mirrorism

 

 

The representation of our reality in mainstream art and media is currently narrow. We must demand change. This is the core motivation of Mirrorism.

 

• Our anger is not negative. Mirrorism is a response: a call for action. Members must actively seek to debunk widely accepted assumptions, as seen at the time of conception, in order to reveal our buried realities. 

 

• Mirrorism inspires intelligent critiques of mainstream concepts. Contribution in multiple formats, styles and innovation are encouraged! We offer opportunities to discover different thought patterns, explore choice, and provide a platform which enables readers to demand more.

 

• The Mirrorist is committed to accurately representing human diversity in literary arts, focusing on inclusion, enablism and equality. We seek honesty rather than truth. Truth is subject to opinion, but honesty comes from the virtue of its proponents’ argument. No idea is too depraved to be honest. All work must directly challenge the facilitation of privilege and distorted images of humanity. 

 

• Mirrorism attacks broadly tolerated concepts, not the individual. We sustain inclusive, ongoing conversation over didactic monologue, and welcome opposing moves and new statements: see Stirorrim.
